Internet addiction (Poland)

In the 21^st century technological development became a fact. Most of us are no longer able to function without technology in various forms. Furthermore, Internet has become the leading source of knowledge that creates various possibilities of development on professional and personal levels. However, despite many obvious benefits that came to us with this development, there are also some drawbacks that should be taken into account.

SI: Changing lives, opening minds - "The school of XXI century!" (Poland)

Having started one Erasmus+ European project the school authorities noticed a great value of implementing European projects in general. In 2015 it was decided to start another project which main aim was to enhance and improve language skills of our language teachers and headmasters. The reason for that was that if we wanted to have an international cooperation between schools our teachers must speak English very well. One of the main aims of our second project ("The school of XXI century!") was to take part in various language courses around Europe. 

Below you can see a short summary in Polish from that experience. 

Erasmus+  to program europejski na lata 2014-2020. W ramach tego programu w roku szkolnym 2015/2016 odbyło się osiem wyjazdów zagranicznych dyrekcji i nauczycieli naszej szkoły.

Wśród najważniejszych celów programu należy wymienić uczenie się przez całe życie poprzez współpracę międzynarodową oraz udział w mobilnościach zagranicznych, a także nadanie pracy z uczniami wymiaru europejskiego oraz promowanie reform systemowych w krajach uczestniczących.

Oprócz doskonalenia umiejętności językowych i metodycznych uczestnicy poznawali kulturę, obyczaje i  tradycje kraju goszczącego.  
 

Wiedza i umiejętności zdobyte podczas kursów umożliwiły wdrożenie nowatorskich metod nauczania  języków obcych oraz ułatwiły komunikację z nauczycielami i uczniami krajów współpracujących z Zespołem Szkół nr 7 w Toruniu w ramach programu Erasmus +.

SI: The Conference on Language Testing and Assessment (Poland)

On 6 October teachers from our school participated in a conference devoted to language teaching, testing and assessment. The conference was organized by Mrs. Beata Tomaszewska who is the main advisor of English language teaching in our region. What is more, matters concerning students' mobility were also pondered over and various forms of organizing those kinds of exchanges were discussed during that event. It was a great possibility to promote both Erasmus+ projects that are implemented in our school. Our teachers prepared a Power Point presentation which aim was to present main information about those projects and their successful implementation in Zespół Szkół nr 7. 
 

 

Supportive initiatives - The European Day of Languages (Poland)

To celebrate the European Day of Languages and to promote one of the project goals (that is enhancing speaking skills of our students) we prepared a special event called ‘Let’s talk’. During one of the lunch breaks students could come to the room no 104 and talk with their teachers in English, Spanish and German. They could ask five questions and after the ‘small talk’ they were rewarded with small gifts. That was a very rewarding experiences also for the teachers as we did not expect such an enthusiasm! ;)
