Students (7th to 9th graders) within groups of 3 to 4 persons were given a task to find x marked spots from the maps (either outside or indoors). On each spot there was a question or a task behind qr-codes. Each answer were marked on map sheets.
The main reason why this kind of event were being held, was that technology and exercise don’t necessarily exclude each other away (like some people have that kind of view for ex. smart phones and other smart devices). This kind of event can be held also within different school subjects like languages or integrate one or more school subjects onto a theme like nutrition, water as an element, human rights, etc. We used qr-codes just simply to go to a certain website easily and to search information quickly via smart device. Majority of groups got more than 3 answers on a whole (5 spots altogether). Students reactions and thoughts about this kind of “studying” was positive and said that we should have more of these kind of tasks within school hours.
